4 Bags  [First Page - Previous]

<<<   Having been thoroughly exposed as a Bible smuggler, I felt it wouldn't be a good idea to try to walk by them with 4 bags a few minutes later. To top it off, I ended up paying double anyway. The only consolation was the cashier girl accepting a Bible. She was very young and didn't seem to know what it was. I wanted to offer the male cashier one as well but feared he would know it to be a forbidden book and tell the girl to give hers back. I'll offer him his copy the next time I'm caught.

Anyways, I now had to lug 150 Bibles and 4 bags to another border crossing 2 train and 2 bus rides away. I arrived at the last bus station at around 9pm. There was plenty of traffic but most were people going out on a Saturday night; my 4 bags stood out like a sore thumb. Anyway, I quickly buried my suitcase in the midst of theirs, picked it up on the other side, and walked right past the guards, who were busy inspecting the family's load.

There are no words to describe the feeling when you make it past the guards. You want to shout "THANK YOU, LORD! PRAISE YOU, JESUS!", but you can't. Since Hades cops are everywhere, all I could do was praise Him under my breath while looking nonchalant.

I lugged the bags up the hill toward the bus stop, ran out of energy, and took a moment to catch my breath. I hadn't eaten all day and was exhausted but the headache was gone and I felt intense peace and joy. God's  >>>
