Bible Smuggler  [First Page - Previous]

<<<  a career Bible smuggler pulling the largest load he had ever pulled. I pulled out the 2 largest wheeled suitcases and a large backpack, and began to stuff them with Bibles, which were different from the Bibles we had carried so far. These were thick commentary Bibles for pastors.

Then something unexpected happened. A local Bible smuggler saw what I was doing and invited me into the luggage room. The local Bible smuggler pulled out a medium-sized bag and said, “You’ve been caught a couple of times now, so why don’t you carry this one instead?”

While I knew the local Bible smuggler meant well, I had a strong sense that this wasn’t what the Lord wanted. After all, 10 Bible smugglers had just prayed and told the Lord that we are helpless. The only way for any Bible smuggler to cross into Hades was by His miracles, and we had professed our faith in His mighty power. Switching to a medium-sized bag because I had been caught recently was an action based on the past, not focused on God and disavowal of the faith that all Bible smugglers had expressed in prayer just now and last night. I politely but firmly declined the local Bible smuggler's advice and continued to pack the three big bags.

When we finished packing, a noticeable gouge had been made in the stack of Bible boxes, and well over a ton of Bibles were in suitcases. Looking around at the Bible smugglers and bags in the room was a sight to behold. All of the Bible smugglers were in civilian clothes, but we were 10 soldiers, albeit ragtag, for Christ about to attack the enemy lines.   >>>
