Hades - God  [First Page - Previous]

<<<   okay, so I asked, "How do you say, 'God' in Hades [language]?" The Hades official replied, "You mean your God or the [Hades'] god?" Presuming the word for Hades god to mean "idol", I said, "my God". The Hades official replied and repeated the Hades word for God a few times.

As the two young Hades guys took my Bibles, they were told that God wrote the Bible, God loves Hades and God loves them. One of the two Hades guys left and left me alone with the other Hades guy, who seemed like a really shy and innocent kid. He even asked me to help him confiscate my Bibles by holding open a plastic bag so that he can put my Bibles into them.

He had Bibles in his hand, so I told him that God loved him and that I hoped he would one day read His love letter to him that he was holding. He looked down at the Bibles in his hands for a few seconds, slowly looked back up at me with a smile, and said softly, "Maybe... one day."

I told him that my friends and I will be praying for him.

I went to the safehouse to drop off the 9 Bibles that had been hidden in the side pockets, and spent some time in prayer. I thanked the Lord for the 9 Bibles and the time I got to spend talking at the border but apologized for having been confident that this special bag would get through (I had been sort of preparing to do the really serious praying for another Bible run with a bigger, regular bag later in the afternoon) when I should have been relying only on the Lord. I sought His forgiveness and providence for passage of the confiscated Bibles at another border crossing.

I returned to the border, picked up the Bibles, and took them to another crossing, where the Lord granted passage. While praising Him on the way to and from the safehouse, He impressed upon my heart that I was not to play games with bags, but to trust Him only.

This morning, instead of rushing off to do my first Bible run, I spent time in prayer and the Bible. I re-read Psalm 91 as one of you had kindly suggested, and the Lord also impressed on my heart Matthew 13:13-14. After charging my iPod, which has an audio Bible, as well as praise and worship songs, I headed off to the warehouse.  >>>
