Missionary Couple [First Page - Previous] <<< Next, I met with two missionary couples. One missionary couple was American, the other missionary couple was European. When I asked them about their work, they asked me for my my testimony in detail. Satisfied that I was a Christian, both missionary couples opened up. Both couples had been in Hades for many years. The American missionary couple was staying, while the European missionary couple was about to move to another place that was even more hostile to the Gospel, where they will be under constant surveillance, and they were taking along their three young children to home-school them. I asked the European missionary couple how they felt about going somewhere where they will be watched so closely that they actually can't even share the Gospel. The husband missionary lowered his eyes, thought for a second, raised his eyes again, and said that their job will be to break the ground for the Lord so that someone coming after them can sow seeds. For now, the targeted people group thought Christians were warmongering demons, so he just wanted to love them with Christ’s love and soften their hearts. I wondered if I would ever have the courage, heart and dedication to the Lord to take a wife and kids into such a dangerous place. This missionary couple was truly risking all for Christ. As we talked, a Hades couple whom I later learned to be fiancées sat us. For over 2 hours, that couple did nothing but read their Bibles in silence. And next to them were two Hades girls, one of whom kept flipping through what appeared to be a Bible. When I enquired why she kept flipping through it instead of reading it, I was told that it was her turn to lead her Bible study group that evening but she hadn't yet received the passage from the Lord to share with her group. So she's looking for a Bible verse for this week's Bible study? Upon hearing my question, the girl gave me a quizzical look and clarified that she and her girlfriends had a Bible study every night, shaming the enquierer. The Hades' Christians' persecution-tested love for the Lord and His Word was palpable and put me to shame. >>>
